EPPENDORF Combitips advanced®
The Eppendorf Combitips have been completely redesigned and optimized to meet the increased requirements of a modern laboratory to a greater extent than ever before. The result is the Combitips advanced®. As they offer a wide variety of advantages in comparison with the Combitips plus, we talk about the 360° Evolution!
FoamingAggressive chemicals (chemical resistance is comparable to Combitip plus®)
Eppendorf have been completely redesigned and optimised the Combitips range so that they are capable of meeting the increased requirements of a modern laboratory to a greater extent than ever before. The result is the Combitips advanced®. As they offer a wide variety of advantages in comparison with the Combitips plus, Eppendorf is calling it the 360° Evolution!
Combitips advanced® as a replacement for Combitips plus
Combitips advanced® also function according to the positive displacement principle. Thus they always dispense the correct desired volume independently of the density of the liquid and its flow characteristics (e.g. increased vapour pressure or increased viscosity). Working with radioactive, aggressive, or toxic materials also becomes safer due to the hermetically sealed piston preventing aerosol contamination. After dispensing with the Multipette, just eject the Combitips advanced®tip and dispose appropriately.
Combitips advanced® – safe, accurate dispensing by positive displacement.
New features include:
Colour coding for easy size recognition
Elongated tips to empty all standard laboratory tubes completely
A dispenser box with chute
An additional purity grade – “Eppendorf PCR clean”
They are ideal for a range of applications, including ELISA, RIA, PCR set-up and general sample preparation or other serial pipetting tasks. With no contamination through aerosols, even aggressive, radioactive, toxic or infectious liquids may all be dispensed safely using Combitips advanced®. A choice of Eppendorf Quality, Biopur® or PCR clean means you can select the most suitable purity grade for their application.
Available in nine sizes for use with any Eppendorf Multipette® M4, Multipette® Stream and Multipette® Xstream and the new E Series of Multipette, Combitips advanced® are designed for applications requiring precise pipetting of identical amounts of liquids in series.
The hermetically sealed piston prevents contamination of the pipette and the positive-displacement principle supports high precision dispensing of problematic liquids, such as those with high density/high salt, high vapour pressure or high viscosity.
The elongated tips (size 2.5 mL, 5.0 mL, 10 mL) enable complete emptying of all common vessels, while the funnel geometry optimises haptic feedback and prevents damage to gloves. No slip agents are used in the manufacture of Combitips advanced®, ensuring the best results in bioassays and other sensitive analytical methods. The new packaging concept and colour coding of the different sizes increase ease of use.
New packaging for ease-of-use in the laboratory.

Eppendorf can provide quality certificates for Combitip advanced standard products. In addition, batch-specific certificates for Eppendorf PCR-clean and Eppendorf Biopur Combitips advanced® are available.
No. Although they are packed straight from production, they are not specially sterilized. If you want sterile Combitips advanced®, we recommend our Biopur Combitips advanced®.
No. The Combitip advanced is made of two materials which behave differently during autoclaving. This could lead to leakage which affects the performance of the Combitip advanced.
The materials used to produce Combitips advanced® (50 mL, 25 mL, 10 mL, 5 mL, 2.5 mL, 1 mL, and 0.5 mL) are compliant with the requirements on materials used for articles or components of articles intended to come into contact with food.
The Combitips advanced® are resistant to nonane and dodecane to a limited extent. We recommend using these chemicals with extra caution and at your own risk. Do not dispense the chemical for a longer period than 10 minutes with the same Combitip advanced, and then change the tip to avoid loss of precision or damage to the piston inside the tip.
Combitips advanced® are resistant to most moderate inorganic acids. For example, 10% nitric acid, 60% sulphuric acid, 40% hydrofluoric acid, and 35% hydrochloric acid can be taken up without damaging the Combitip and can be dispensed over a period of several weeks. We are not, however, able to give any information about dispensing accuracy or functionality of liquid dispensing. Also, we are not able to make any generally applicable statements for organic acids since the resistance varies considerably, depending on the acid. For example, the Combitip advanced is resistant to 50% acetic acid at room temperature, but not to butyric acid.
This substance was tested separately. The test result for trifluoroacetic acid with a concentration below of 50% shows that Combitips can be used. Therefore higher concentrated trifluoroacetic acid (größer 50%) the resistant is dependent on the exposure time.
This substance was not tested separately. The test result for ethylene glycol on PE and PP shows that Combitips advanced® can be used. Pipetting of PEG should therefore also be possible.
The primary components of petroleum spirit are pentane, hexane, and octane. Because the secondary components are unknown, we cannot guarantee that the Combitips advanced® are suitable for your application. However, we would be pleased to send you a sample of the Combitips advanced® to try out.
We recommend cleaning and disinfecting the adapter after each use. Then it can be used for up to 25 Combitips, since there is one new adapter in each package of Combitips advanced®.
Yes, there is a lot-unspecific certificate regarding the absence of slip agents (including oleamide, erucamide, stearamide),biocides (including DiHEMDA), plasticizers (phthalates) and BSE/TSE available.
