EPPENDORF IsoTherm-System®
The IsoTherm-System is the ideal system for safely cooling your samples in 0.5mL or 1.5 mL/2.0 mL tube formats at -21°C or 0°C throughout your entire lab workflow.
Item# 3880001166:Includes one IsoPack and one IsoRack, for 1.5/2.0 mL vessels, 0 °C.
The IsoTherm System specialises in cooling samples effectively and constantly at -21°C or 0°C over many hours.
It consists of the following components: the IsoRack (work rack), IsoPack (cool pack) and IsoSafe (insulating box).
The IsoTherm System can be used as an enzyme bar to prevent enzymes from becoming inactive as well as for PCR sample preparation, sample transport and slow thawing of frozen samples.
Application
Cooling, transport, and storage of deep-frozen samples
Product Features
Holds 24 tubes (Safe-Lock 0.5 mL / 1.5 mL / 2.0 mL)
IsoPack (cold pack): white for 0 °C and blue for –21 °C
Maintains 0 °C up to six hours (white), maintains –21 °C up to three hours (blue)
No more melting ice baths (reduces risk of contamination)
All system components can be used separately
Racks are stackable, autoclavable, markable, floatable, and they can be centrifuged in a microplate rotor
Please note that we offer a special IsoRack adapter for our 5810/R (swing-bucket rotor type A-4-81, flex buckets). In addition, the IsoRacks can also be centrifuged in the A-2-DWP and in the A-4-62-MTP. In this case, centrifugation is limited to a max. rotational speed of 3,700 rpm (max. 1,000 centrifugations).
NaOCl attacks the aluminum foil (for both packs sizes) slightly. Over a period of eight hours or more, this may lead to damage. The IsoPack polyethylene housing is chemically resistant to NaOCl. Even if a leak occurs, the liquid in the IsoPack is non-toxic.
"If IsoPacks (in an IsoRack) are sealed in an insulating box (IsoSafe), a temperature of 0 °C (in the white packs) can be maintained for at least 6 hours and –21 °C (in the blue packs) for > 3 hours.
If the IsoPacks are in an open insulating box, 0 °C can be maintained for roughly 4 hours and –21 °C for 1–2 hours.
If the IsoPacks/IsoRacks are not placed in an insulating box, a temperature of 0 °C can be held for 1.5–3 hours and –21 °C can be held for 0.5–1 hour."
