All of Biosan’s DNA/RNA UV-cleaner boxes are designed for bench top use and made of metal framework, feature plexiglass walls and powder enamelled working surfaces.
There is an open UV lamp installed in the upper hood which allows UV-radiation to disinfect the working area and inactivate DNA/RNA fragments after ~15 – 30 min of exposure (as controlled by a digital timer). Illumination of the working surface is provided by a daylight lamp.
UV-cleaner boxes are equipped with a flow-type bactericidal UV cleaner–recirculator AR, which provides constant decontamination inside the box during operation. They are recommended for operations with DNA/RNA amplicons.
UV cleaner–recirculator AR consists of a UV lamp, a fan and dust filters organised in a special body so that a user working with a UV-cleaner box is protected against UV light. Recirculator increases the maximum density of UV light making it sufficiently effective for DNA/RNA inactivation. The UV–recirculator processes 100 UV-cleaner box volumes per hour, creating permanent aseptic conditions of operation inside the UV-cleaner box.
Matching tables with wheel locks and a drawer are available as an optional extra for all models.

Glass panels on the outside: use a soft sponge or cloth with common washing solution for glass, remove excess and wipe dry. Do not use ethanol or other organic solvents.
Internal cleaning and disinfection: The following substances are recommended to use for decontamination: 70% ethanol, sodium hypochlorite solution, DNA/RNA removing solution (e.g. DNA-Exitus Plus™, RNase-Exitus Plus™). After washing the inside parts of the box it is necessary to rub them dry.
UVC/T-AR.
External cleaning: The front and side panels are made of Plexiglas™ and are prone to scratches and optical transmission capacity decrease if improperly cleaned. Use a soft sponge or cloth with mild soap and water, remove excess water and wipe dry.
Internal cleaning and disinfection: Use a mild detergent for all the interior surfaces. For decontamination, use a special DNA/RNA removing solution (e.g. DNA-Exitus Plus™, RNase-Exitus Plus™). After washing the inside parts of the box it is necessary to rub them dry.
The best way to load gels is to first make sure the fully solidified gel is submerged in the running buffer with only a thin layer of buffer over the top of the gel. While pipetting their samples into the gel, most researchers guide their pipettor with their other hand to prevent the tip from damaging the gel matrix. Since loading buffer is more dense than running buffer, the pipette tip can be held slightly above the well during filling, and the sample will flow down into the well. Be sure to slowly dispense the sample to avoid sample loss.
No, it does not. Instead, Biosan`s UV-Cleaner box are equipped with a UV-Recirculator, that provides constant working area decontamination during cabinet`s operation.
No, it is not recommended to use PCR Cabinets for tissue/cell culture. Biosan PCR Cabinets are designed for sample preparation for PCR reactions and manipulation with nucleic acids.
PCR cabinets have built-in UV recirculator to protect the samples in the working area, but personnel and environment are not protected.
Operator should monitor the amount of dust in the filter, because it depends on the duration of use and cleanliness of the working room. The procedure for replacing/cleaning dust filters is described in the user manual.
In a UV-cleaner box there is 1x fluorescent lamp (15 W) for working area illumination, 1x open UV lamp (25 W) for working area disinfection and 1x UV Recirculator (25 W) for constant decontamination inside the box during opearation.
